May 8, Psalm 25, 29, 33, 36, 39

Psalm 25 Trust in the Lord’s goodness, turn to Him because of who He is. Ask God to show His ways to you, to teach you and lead you - then wait for Him to show you. He will show you. God will remember you. What are some attributes/characteristics of God? Good and upright is the Lord: therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,

for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. God is all these things to those who obey Him and surrender to Him our deceitful and selfish ways. Keep your eyes on God, and hold fast to your integrity while you wait for Him.

Psalm 29 What a powerful Psalm because it shows to us how just God’s voice is majestic and full of power! We are to worship Him. I love the imagery in this Psalm about God speaking and the ramifications of His involvement in every day life. Thank you Lord for being active!

Psalm 33 Did you know that the Creator of the world loves His people? I hope so, and this Psalm affirms it. For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord. Just look around and you see how God is taking care of everything. I also want to quote this section from the Psalm, The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! I pray that America grabs ahold of this, and whatever country you are living in as you read this. God’s love is abundant, we just need to seek Him and obey Him.

God’s eyes are on those who respect and fear Him - He will deliver us from death (spiritual death in Hell). God will deliver us and when our hope is in Him, we witness and experience His steadfast love.

Psalm 36 Even when we are attacked by our enemies, God protects us - even when it may not feel like it at the time. There are some with no fear of God and they think they are pretty hot stuff - but that is temporal! God’s love is abounding and never ends - how precious is His steadfast love?!

Psalm 39 Are you suffering? Frustrated? Angry? Then tell God about it. Get it out and open to the Lord, because our lives go by so fast, literally a blink of a moment in time. So, why do we wait on the Lord? Because our hope is in Him, as our Deliverer.

To sum it all up:

• Keep your eyes on God, and hold fast to your integrity while you wait for Him.
• I know sometimes it can seem that God is not interested in what we are going through, but when you look around and see how He takes care of everything, it should help you realize that He has this! Ever drive by a bird that just got a worm? That is God taking care of that bird. How much more so will God do for His kids? Unlimited!
