About this study

Thanks for stopping by my site. I decided last year (2015) to do a Bible study/commentary while going through the Bible chronologically. It is geared more towards those who haven't read much of the Bible... Join me on this journey?

I will be posting from time to time this year on various topics!

May 3: Psalm 106, 107

May 3, Psalm 106, 107

Psalm 106 God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good! This Psalm serves as a reminder of God’s steadfast and amazing love forever, and we are to praise Him! Again we see that if there is obedience, God’s blessings and favor follow. Like the Israelites, even when we are unfaithful, God is still faithful. Look at how many times the Psalmist shows how the Israelites have forgotten God - even after He does miraculous things for them… Time and time again, God has forgiven them/us because of His goodness. God saves.

Psalm 107 God is our Rescuer, so give thanks to Him for His great love and ability to be the only true Rescuer. Even though we as sinful people forget God, He is still ever faithful. There is nothing more satisfying to our core and longings, than to be satisfied in the Lord. He is the giver of good gifts and sustainer of our lives. God controls everything, even watering a desert. Sometimes we just need to pull our heads out of wherever they are and see the goodness and mercy of our Lord!

To sum it all up:

  • Are we also like the Israelites, where we exchange the glory of God for our own idols and desires? Let it not be so! Let’s pursue God 1st and foremost in our lives and show it.
