About this study

Thanks for stopping by my site. I decided last year (2015) to do a Bible study/commentary while going through the Bible chronologically. It is geared more towards those who haven't read much of the Bible... Join me on this journey?

May 25: 1 Chronicles 23-25

May 25, 1 Chronicles 23-25
David is furthering the preparations for his son, Solomon, to take over being King. This includes David assembling and assigning all the Levites, Priests, and musicians. What you will notice in all of these chapters is that God is a God of order. So much so, that God ordained the casting of lots for who served when and where.

1 Chronicles 23 David assigned all the Levites to their roles so that they could assist the priests for the service of the House of the Lord, taking care of everything. Now that they have peace, God will reside in Jerusalem in the temple.

1 Chronicles 24 David organized the priests by lot and assigned them their tasks so that they could come in to the house of the Lord and serve Him as appointed.

1 Chronicles 25 Then we learn about David organizing the musicians for service to the Lord. This was also done by casing of the lots, which God ordained in advance.

To sum it all up:

  • Like I said earlier, God is a God of order. He is not a God of chaos and confusion, but of order. In our own lives, when things seem chaotic - we can then slow down and realize that things are needing to be addressed. Whatever is going on in your life at this moment, turn to God for help and trust He will work it all out - even in the chaos or calmness. He is there for you.
