October 14, Matthew 13, Luke 8
Matthew & Luke continued…
Matthew 13 Jesus has a big crowd following Him. Jesus starts with parables. Parable of the Sower. A sower has seeds fall along a path, poor soil areas, thorns, & good soil. The point is that some people will not understand the word of God. Satan will come and snatch away what God has sewn into a lot of peoples hearts. However, there are some that will hear the word and grab a hold of it. Others will simply have the cares of the world take over what God had started.
Why did Jesus speak in parables? He was revealing mysteries to his chosen people. If God reveals it to you you will understand in abundance, if not, you will not understand and you actually be at a deficit. People that would understand what God says are fulfilling prophecy.
We learn about parable of the weeds. Long story short… God sews good seeds and Satan comes in plants weeds. At the end of the age the weeds will be burned. The weeds represent those that do not love Jesus.
Jesus spoke to them a lot of parables and mostly only parables.
There we read about a couple of parables about how Jesus Christ is the most priceless thing in the world and if you are found by him you will do whatever it takes to be with him.
Truth is, if you do love Jesus you'll be thrown out at the end of age into hell. Sorry if that comes across as harsh comments just what the Bible says.
Again, we learn that Jesus is rejected in his hometown by his own people and family. They did not believe who he was.
Luke 8 We learn here the Jesus had a lot of women accompanying him along with his disciples. He had healed many of them of demons and freed them.
Like we learned in Matthew 13 Jesus talks about the same parables. He does add in the parable about a lamp under a jar & nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest been known to everybody. You cannot keep anything hidden.
Another great story about one of the trues of Christ… Jesus and his disciples went a crossed the lake and they encountered a storm. Jesus was sleeping. The disciples freaked out. Jesus woke up rebuked the storm everything went calm. The disciples were amazed.
Jesus healed a man with the demon. The demon had complete control over this man so much so that this guy was tied up with chains and they would be broken. He came to Jesus and Jesus talked with the demon. This demon represented many demons inside this man and the demon exit Jesus would send him not into the abyss and sent the demons into a herd of pigs which ran over a cliff and all died. The people of the town were scared because of this and asked Jesus to leave.
Jairus. He was the ruler of the synagogue. His only daughter was 12 years old and dying. He came to Jesus for help in Jesus agreed to go to his daughter. On the way there a lady who had been bleeding for 12 years touched Jesus and was immediately healed. Jesus knew the power had gone out from him even though there was people all around touching him. The lady knew that she had to be honest and Jesus tells her that her faith has healed her… go in peace. While he was healing her, Jairus’ daughter died. Regardless, Jesus went to her and brought her back to life! And her spirit returned to her.
To sum it all up:
- All of these things Jesus did because he is God. Do you believe that he is the only true God capable of doing anything and everything?
- I hope so. Please your faith in Jesus Christ today
- Do a check of yourself to make sure that you are living how God wants you to live. If there are things in your life that do not reflect your love for Christ… eradicate them.
