About this study

Thanks for stopping by my site. I decided last year (2015) to do a Bible study/commentary while going through the Bible chronologically. It is geared more towards those who haven't read much of the Bible... Join me on this journey?

July 24:, Isaiah 35-36

July 24, Isaiah 35-36

Isaiah 35 This is a beautiful poem about the love of God and how God will vindicate His people. They shall be able to see the Glory of the Lord & His Majesty. We are pointed to Jesus Christ in this chapter and how sweet it is. They (and we) will be vindicated through Jesus Christ. This happened when Christ came to earth and fulfilled these prophecies, and also in His 2nd Coming. God’s people will return to Him.

Isaiah 36 This chapter is recorded elsewhere 3 times about these same events. Basically, the Assyrian King is coming after Judah and their military leader acted like a prophet, albeit false. the Rabshakeh was a high ranking military position, and he abused his authority - he had none from God. Yet, he pretended to talk like it. He was prophesying (or predicting) that because they trust in God they would fail - he was even willing to bet on it. Yet, Isaiah repeatedly gave assurance to the chosen people that God would see them through. The leader pretended to be hearing from God and all he was doing was lying. He mocked Hezekiah, the King of Judah, and told the people to not listen to him (over and over again). He went so far as to say that they are not to believe Hezekiah that the Lord would deliver them. Hezekiah isn't done yet… stay tuned!

To sum it all up:
  • Jesus is coming again. Are you ready to meet your King?
  • If someone gives you bad advice contrary to Scripture, do no receive it. Rebuke it in the name of Jesus.
