About this study

Thanks for stopping by my site. I decided last year (2015) to do a Bible study/commentary while going through the Bible chronologically. It is geared more towards those who haven't read much of the Bible... Join me on this journey?

I will be posting from time to time this year on various topics!

July 18: Isaiah 23-27

July 18, Isaiah 23-27

Isaiah 23 this is the 5th Judgement from God through Isaiah about the judgement and redemption of Tyre. God is the one that put it together and He is going to defile the proud and pompous of their glory. The Glory goes only to God.
Tyre was a maritime center for years and many other countries traded there. Their overthrow and redemption is predicted.

Isaiah 24 God is going to bring Judgment on the Whole Earth. God will empty out the earth someday, and I believe it because God’s Word says it will happen. Just like all the other prophecies, this will happen too. Because people have violated God’s laws and sinned - breaking the covenant with God, they (we) are under a curse of sorts. Yet, the Redeemed and Chosen people will still be able to give God Glory and sing for joy. God will be destroying our traditions, political systems and the like.

Isaiah 25 God will be destroying Death at a certain point. This is often referred to as part of the new heavens and the new earth. Isaiah confesses that Yahweh is his God and God has done wonderful things (even in light of all that God has shown him). At a certain point, God will be destroying all death and He will bring His Eternal Salvation to His people. There will be no more tears, no more sin. We will rejoice - those are His - on that day.

Isaiah 26 We are to keep our eyes and lives focused on Yahweh - not our agenda, but His. We are to yearn for God, who ordains all things. The wicked will be dealt with. There is even a hint at the resurrection of Christ here (19). Judgement Day is coming. I am not referring to a zombie apocalypse - but the Judgement Day of God.

Isaiah 27 Israel will be Redeemed. God will destroy and punish the things of Satan and the powers of evil. Notice how many times the phrase, In that Day are mentioned… We will be tended to and taken care of by God. What a glorious day that will be. However, for the people without discernment, God’s wrath will come upon them for their disobedience.

To sum it all up:

  • Judgment Day is something to anticipate, if you are a believer in Christ. However, if you are not - and I am not trying to ‘scare’ you into anything, Judgement Day will be a horrific day. We should not oppose the only true God, but we should live our lives for Him. Sounds complex or simple? Yeah, it is both. Once you decide to stand for God and live for Him, the world will be against you. That is when you must dig in your heels and lean 100% on His Power, and you will prevail.
  • There is no reason to be a lukewarm Christians (really isn't such a thing anyway). Either you are in or you are out. Make up your mind and have your life reflect it, so that when we do stand before the Lord, there will be no surprises.
