August 15, Jeremiah 30-31
Jeremiah 30 God brings hope to Israel & Judah through Jeremiah. God will restore them after the 70 years of exile and they will take possession of the land again. Then God will break Babylon and the opposing countries and release His people back. When they seek God again He will receive them. Even though they are in exile, God is still with them. God disciplines those He loves. Their sins are great but God will restore them and heal them! God will rebuild them and they again will be His people and He will be there God.
Jeremiah 31 God will turn their morning into Joy through a new covenant! God loves His people and just wants what is best for them - and only God knows how to bring that about. God is saving His remnant because He is God the Provider and He keeps His promises. A day will come when “… shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow. I will feast the soul of the priests with abundance, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, declares the Lord.” What a day of rejoicing! God has offered His people hope for the future and their kids will be better off than they were because of obedience. God promises a new covenant and “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” That is how it is supposed to be!
To sum it all up:
- Even when times are tough - know that God is still with you. Even if it seems as though you have been isolated, you are never alone with God. IF you are being disciplined for your sin, thank God that He cares enough to help you.
- Trust in God’s promises and do not veer to the right or the left but stay dialed in to Him
