About this study

Thanks for stopping by my site. I decided last year (2015) to do a Bible study/commentary while going through the Bible chronologically. It is geared more towards those who haven't read much of the Bible... Join me on this journey?

Feb 11: Exodus 36-38

Feb 11, Exodus 36-38

Exodus 36. Bezalel and Oholiab are listed first and then we learn that every other craftsman ‘in whom the Lord has put skill and intelligence’ goes to work - but the gifts that they have (and that we have) come from the Lord and are for the Lord. We then see an entire people group who has had their hearts turn toward Yahweh - the Israelites. The Israelites’ hearts were so moved that they were bringing in all their jewelry and metals, so much so, that they had to be restrained from bringing any more. The craftsman didn't need anymore! Then we get the breakdown of the building of the tabernacle and they were building to God’s exact specifications. For a builder, that can sometimes be a challenge. Sometimes a builder has more experience or insight than a designer/architect/owner. I have never worked off a set of plans or done a job that didn't need some tweaking. After reading this, we see that God is the Master Builder and Planner - so trust God in what He is doing… He is God after all.

Exodus 37 is when Bezalel and the crew make the items for the Holy of Holies, exactly how God said to do it. It is truly a masterpiece...Take another look at the picture close up:

Exodus 38. They are making now the items for outside the tent of the tabernacle but inside the court that surrounds it. They give record of all the materials in the tabernacle and that is done by the Levites, lead by Aarons son.

To sum it all up:

  • Gives us all of our gifts.
  • God designs and cares about how He is worshipped. He is very precise how it is, that we are to honor Him. As you can tell by His precise detail to the things in the Tabernacle.
  • God designs and cares about the details of our life. Yahweh is not some distant God who created the world and left. NO! Yahweh does care about our lives as they are all a part of His plan. You are not forgotten. God knows where you are at and is working through you and your circumstances.
